Information technology infrastructure library or shortened as ITIL, is described as a set of practices for information technology service management, and this certain practices are more focused on the alignment of the services of IT that are mostly needed by the business and the other enterprises. There are basically five series of core volumes for information technology infrastructure library, and each of these series are covering the different lifecycle stage of ITSM and it defines the various procedures, tasks, processes and checklists that can be applied by a specific organization by maintaining a minimum level of competency, delivering value of the organization, and establishing integration with the organization’s strategy, even if the ITIL is not specifically designed for an organization. ITIL is being used by the organization to demonstrate compliance and measure improvement within the organization, for the reason that it allows the organization to produce and establish a baseline from which it can measure, implement and plan the elements that can be beneficial to the organization. The scheme of certification for ITIL is offering a certain modular approach to each of the candidate and participant, and being a qualified candidate, you are going to be assigned with a certain credit value, and in every completion of the said module, you will be rewarded with a certification and a certain number of credits.
